It would not be uncommon to find DOS readable 
documents on a HPFS (OS/2) hard drive.  iHPFS 
allows DOS to access a HPFS drive, including 
viewing the long file names.  Your HPFS drive 
appears as a normal DOS drive, except that it 
cannot be written to (it essentially appears 
to DOS as if it was a CD-ROM drive).
