Universal Park Program (ver unknown) Abandoned Freeware This program is intended for Winchester drive types (such as the MFM and RLL drives), which have heads that will make contact with the disk platter when the platter is not spinning (potentially causing data loss on the landing cylinder). When executed, the program relocates the drive heads to the innermost cylinder (a safe spot where no data is stored). Note that the heads will only remain there as long as they are not told to move again (such as by a call from DOS to seek a file), so it is best to execute this program last, just before powering down the drive. Because the program moves the heads in the same manner as when DOS is merely seeking a file, the program should be able to safely move the heads of any DOS accessable drive, including floppy drives, even though doing so may be pointless. Syntax = Park [drive letter]
