E0X (ver 2002.6.30) Abandoned Freeware Older floppy disks were sometimes archived as disk images. When you were ready to use the software, you insterted the appropriate blank floppy disk, and a copy of the original diskette was created. Unfortunately, 3 1/2" floppy disk drives are difficult to find, and 5 1/4" floppy disk drives (and media) virtually impossible. If you try to extract the archived IMG file onto a different type of diskette media (say a 1.44mb 3 1/2" diskette instead of the expected 360k 5 1/2" diskette), the process will fail. E0X is a floppy drive emulator from germany. It allows you to extract diskette IMG files to XMS memory, where you can then manipulate them as if they were on a real floppy diskette in your drive A: or B:. Because the software thinks it is on real media, you can even run the software's installation program. E0X is -NOT- a TSR, and it supports disk changing.
