For many years the standard DOS FTP software was WATTCP FTP ver 0.70.  
However, this software has problems with the new Microsoft IIs servers.  

FTP-Wiz is based on the newer (post 2000) WATTCP protocols.  WATTCP.CFG 
must be in the same directory as FTP-WIZ.exe (edit the file with your IP 
address information).  Uploads are slightly faster than with the old 
WATTCP FTP ver 0.70 software, but still relatively slow.  Downloads though 
are quite fast.
