ScanTool.net OBD-II software lets you turn your laptop or desktop PC into 
a sophisticated automotive diagnostics system. Currently, it can be used 
to read trouble codes, display their definitions, reset the MIL, and display 
real-time sensor data (website = http://www.scantool.net/scantool/downloads/).

ScanTool.net OBD-II Software for ElmScan is free software that allows you to 
use your computer and an inexpensive hardware interface to read information 
from your car's computer (schematic = circuit.pdf or circuit.jpg). Current 
version allows you to read trouble codes and see their descriptions, clear 
the codes and turn off the "Check Engine" light, and display real-time sensor 
data such as RPM, Engine Load, Vehicle Speed, Coolant Temperature, and Timing 
Advance.  Note that this DOS software is no longer available from their website!


Note1: This software creates a "log.txt" and "scantool.cfg" file in the
directory you start the program from.  

Note2: The program requires DPMI, so a "cwsdpmi.exe" DPI program is included. 

Note3: The software is of little use without the hardware component.  You must
either purchase pre-made hardware from "scantool.net", or build it yourself
using the schematic diagram we have included.
