EME System (ver 4.2) Abandoned Freeware This is the EME System for DOS. EME System is a program for controlling antenna motors (UP, DOWN, CW, and CCW directions) to track the moon, or other selected radio source. It is primarily intended for Earth-Moon-Earth amateur radio transmissions, but can also be used for both radio and optical astronomy telescope control. Note that the authors primary language is French, and that the software (although translated into English) still contains a few minor French labels. You can use the program without connecting an interface (set COM port in the "DAT" file to to COM0), but if you want to control an antenna, you will have to build an RS232 interface that connects the motors to either your serial port COM1 or COM2. The documentation refers to an "Appendix" containing interface drawings, but unfortunately, that appendix was not included with the program. The control interface is relatively simple to build however, as it is just a relay trigger that anyone with basic electrical knowlege could design. As a convenience, I am including a PDF file from a recent Windows version of the software ("Wiring.pdf") which, though more complex to take advantage of the extra software features included in the Windows version, might help persons who need to see an actual wiring schematic.
