Parallel (ver 1.45) Abandoned Freeware Parallel ports are becomming less common in computers, but they are required for connecting older peripherals, older copy protection keys, and for controlling custom hardware devices. Unfortunately, when choosing a parallel port to add into your computer, their is often little information from the manufacture regarding the performance characteristics of the add-in card. "PARALLEL" tests your parallel port to determine its parameters (Port type,Address, IRQ, and BIOS name). Note that for IRQ detection, you will need to use a loopback plug. "PARASPD" tests the I/O speed of your parallel port under 4-bit, 8-bit, and EPP/ECP modes.
